1. Purpose

This Scope of Practice explains what JB Reinvent™ provides, the boundaries of that work, and circumstances in which another form of professional support may be more appropriate.

JB Reinvent™ provides personal development and coaching services designed to support people navigating periods of change, transition or reinvention.

The work is reflective and developmental. It is intended to help participants better understand who they are, what matters to them, who they are becoming and how they want to move forward.

2. What JB Reinvent™ provides

JB Reinvent™ may provide:

  • structured one-to-one coaching and reflective conversations;
  • guided self-reflection and identity exploration;
  • exercises, prompts, workbooks and educational materials;
  • exploration of values, aspirations, priorities and patterns;
  • support in identifying personally meaningful goals and direction;
  • support with decision-making, behaviour, habits and accountability;
  • personal development programmes, workshops and digital materials; and
  • the Identity Builds Reinvention™ methodology and its five stages: Recognise, Rediscover, Rebuild, Reconnect and Reinvent.

The role of JB Reinvent™ is to facilitate reflection, exploration and personal development.

Participants remain responsible for their own choices, decisions and actions.

3. What JB Reinvent™ does not provide

JB Reinvent™ is not a healthcare, mental-health or crisis service.

Services do not constitute:

  • psychotherapy;
  • counselling;
  • psychiatric care;
  • psychological assessment or treatment;
  • diagnosis or treatment of any physical or mental-health condition;
  • medical advice or treatment;
  • prescribing;
  • crisis intervention;
  • legal advice;
  • financial, investment or tax advice;
  • personalised clinical nutrition advice;
  • physical rehabilitation; or
  • any other regulated professional service unless expressly stated and provided by an appropriately qualified professional.

Participation in JB Reinvent™ should not be used as a substitute for appropriate medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal, financial or other professional support.

4. Coaching and therapy

Reflective conversations can sometimes involve personal experiences, emotions, relationships, identity and significant life events.

Discussing these subjects does not make the service therapy or counselling.

JB Reinvent™ may help a participant reflect on an experience and consider what it means for their present choices and future direction. It does not diagnose psychological conditions, provide psychological treatment or attempt to resolve matters requiring therapeutic or clinical intervention.

Where a participant's needs appear to extend beyond the appropriate scope of the service, JB Reinvent™ may discuss this with the participant and recommend that they seek appropriately qualified professional support.

5. Suitability

JB Reinvent™ may be appropriate for adults who want structured support with areas such as:

  • personal or professional transition;
  • changing priorities or direction;
  • identity and purpose;
  • significant life or career crossroads;
  • rebuilding direction following change;
  • exploring what they want from the next stage of their life; or
  • translating greater self-understanding into decisions and action.

Participation does not guarantee any particular personal, professional, financial, relationship, health or other outcome.

6. Professional boundaries

JB Reinvent™ will work within the competence and scope of the service being provided.

Within that scope, James may:

  • ask reflective and exploratory questions;
  • introduce structured exercises and frameworks;
  • support self-awareness and reflection;
  • explore values, aspirations and priorities;
  • support participants in developing their own goals and actions;
  • challenge assumptions through appropriate coaching questions; and
  • support accountability for actions chosen by the participant.

James will not:

  • diagnose a participant;
  • provide psychotherapy or counselling;
  • provide medical treatment or clinical mental-health advice;
  • prescribe medication or treatment;
  • provide legal, financial or other regulated professional advice;
  • knowingly represent himself as holding a professional qualification or regulatory status that he does not hold; or
  • knowingly continue work that has moved materially beyond the appropriate scope of JB Reinvent™.

7. Referral and escalation

There may be circumstances in which another form of support is more appropriate.

JB Reinvent™ may recommend that a participant seek support from an appropriately qualified professional where their needs fall outside the scope of the service.

Where there is an immediate risk of serious harm or another safeguarding concern, JB Reinvent™ will act in accordance with its safeguarding and escalation procedures and any applicable legal obligations.

JB Reinvent™ is not an emergency service.

Anyone requiring urgent medical or mental-health assistance should contact an appropriate emergency or crisis service.

8. Digital services and AI

Where JB Reinvent™ uses digital tools or artificial intelligence in the development or delivery of its services, those tools do not replace professional judgement or appropriately qualified medical, mental-health, legal, financial or other regulated professionals.

AI or automated functionality provided as part of JB Reinvent™ must not be relied upon to diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment or provide regulated professional advice.

9. Participant responsibility

JB Reinvent™ provides a structured environment for reflection and development, but the participant remains responsible for:

  • deciding what they choose to disclose;
  • determining what conclusions they draw from the work;
  • deciding whether and how to act;
  • obtaining specialist professional advice where required; and
  • seeking appropriate support where their needs fall outside the scope of JB Reinvent™.

The purpose of the work is to support participants in developing their own understanding and direction, rather than to make decisions for them.

10. Questions about scope

Questions about whether a particular matter falls within the scope of JB Reinvent™ can be raised before or during participation.
